Visma.net ERP
Configuration
Visma.net ERP has been pre-configured for basic use. However, before you start using the system, you must set it up correctly.
Important! Some of the settings cannot be changed after you start to use the service.
A wizard guides you through the most important settings when you log on to the system for the first time. However, after you have finished the wizard, you can still change the settings. You can find the important settings here:

Branches contains general information about your company’s branches, such as names, addresses, default locations and employees. Furthermore, you can provide VAT information in case the branch is a legal entity, as well as set up the base currency to be used by all the branches.
The following information is most important:
- The General settings tab: Check that the settings for Main address, Main contact, Legal information, Configuration settings and Base currency settings are correct.
- The Payment settings tab: Add or check your bank information.

The segment values are components of the Segment keys, which are used to create different identifiers. Here, you can make a list of possible values for each segment.
The following information is most important:
Segment key ID: SUBACCOUNT (click to select).
One or more segments are predefined. Decide whether you need more or less segments and add values for the segments.
To open the segment values, go to the Segment values (CS203000) window.

A numbering series is used to automatically generate a new number or ID each time an object of a specific type is created. Numbering series are, for example, used for customer and supplier numbers, invoice numbers, and payments. Do not change these values once you have started using them.
To select a numbering series, click in the field. For fast access, start typing in the bottom search field.
The following information must be verified and changed if necessary:
- Suppliers
- Customers
- Employees
- Customer invoices
- Purchase invoices
To open the number series, go to the Number series (CS201010) window.

Important! The financial year and periods can not be changed after you have started using them.
The financial year and periods are important in the financial reporting of your company. Visma.net ERP allows flexibility for setting up the financial year and its periods. Please note that the following financial years are based on the end date of the first financial year defined in Visma.net ERP.
You create the financial year and periods in the Startup wizard. As long as you do not register any data in the system, you may change the financial year and periods by following the steps below.

- Go to the Financial periods (GL201000) window.
- Select one of the periods and click Delete.
- Click OK in the message about deleting the financial year record.
- Go to the Financial year (GL101000) window.
- Change the date in Start financial year and/or the Period type and click Generate periods.
- Click

- Go to the Financial periods (GL201000) window.
- Click Generate periods and select to activate the periods.
- Click
.

Cash accounts are used for financial transactions between you and your customers, suppliers and other parties. The system contains some pre-defined cash accounts, but you can create extra accounts via the chart of accounts.
The information which is important to register here are the bank account number or IBAN in the field External ref. no..
To go to cash accounts, go to the Cash accounts (CA202000)window.
