About rate type definition

For the same currency, different rates can be used in transactions with suppliers or customers.

To maintain this situation, in Visma.net ERP, you configure rate types in the Currency rate types (CM201000) window.

For each rate type, you specify particular settings, such as enabling or disabling the functionality to update the currency rate online (Refresh online) and optionally providing the rate adjustment percent (Online rate adjustment (%)). Then you assign an appropriate rate type to a currency rate when you create the rate in the Currency rates (CM301000) window.

You can add multiple currency rates that are the same and assign different rate types to each of them, so that different currency rate values will be applied in each particular case.

You can create one rate type or multiple rate types depending on your company needs.
For example: You can create separate rate types for revaluation and translation purposes when different exchange rates should be used.
