Import data from XML

You can import data from an XML file by using a window that supports this functionality, as described in this topic.
This functionality is available in some windows when you have selected a record and click and see the menu command Import from XML.

It is for example available in the Generic inquiry (SM208000) window, where you can select an inquiry and see that this menu command becomes available.

1. Open the window to which you want to import data.
2. Click and select Import from XML.
3. In the Upload XML file dialog box, click Choose file, and select the file you want to import.
4. Click Upload.
5. Click .

If a file was attached to the window whose data you exported, there is no information about this file in the exported XML file.
When you import data to the window, you need to attach the file manually.
For example: If you have exported to XML a file data provider that has a file attached to the Data providers (SM206015) window, you need to attach the file to the data provider manually when you import the data of the provider.
