Use simple filters
You use simple filters to quickly filter the data of any table in the system by selecting the
appropriate options in the menu that appears when you click any column header.
In this topic, you will read about setting up simple filters, clearing simple
filters, managing column sorting, saving changes to a filter, and filtering by a
selected cell value.

- Open the window with the table for which you want to set up a simple filter.
- In the table, click the header of the column whose values you want to filter.
- If you want to filter data in a column with fixed number of values (such as Status), in the dialog box, which opens, select required values.
- If you want to filter data in a column with unlimited number of values (such
as Supplier), do the following:
- In the dialog box, which opens, select the filter condition from the list of available conditions. These conditions (such as Equals, Contains, Starts with, Is zero or Is not zero) depend on the data type of the column.
- In the field at the bottom of the dialog box, you can if needed type the filter value.
- Click OK to apply the filter.
Now the table displays only the rows that satisfy the terms of the simple filter. The column
header is highlighted and displays the filter icon .
You can set up simple filters for any number of table columns. If you set up filters for multiple columns, the system displays only the rows that satisfy the terms of all simple filters.

- Open the window with the table for which you want to clear a simple filter.
- In the table, click the header of the column for which you want to clear a filter.
- If you filtered data in a column with unlimited number of values, click Clear filter.

- Open the window with the table for which you want to set up column sorting.
- In the table, click the header of the column whose values you want to sort.
- In the dialog box, select the sorting order:
- ascending (that is, A to Z for text, lowest to highest for numbers, or newest to latest for dates)
- descending (that is, Z to A for text, highest to lowest for numbers, or latest to newest for dates).
The column header displays the sorting icons.
You can turn on sorting for only one column in a table.

- Open the window with the table for which you want to clear column sorting.
- In the table, click the header of the column for which you want to clear sorting.
- Click the sorting option you have previously clicked.
The column sorting is now turned off.

You can filter the data in a table by a value of any cell that you select as follows:
- Open the window with the table for which you want to set up filtering by a cell value.
- In the table, right-click the cell that contains the value by which you want to filter the data.
- Click Filter by this cell value.
You can also apply this filter by selecting the required cell and pressing SHIFT+F.
As a result, the data in the table is filtered by the selected value.
