Visma.net ERP
Common settings - overview
In common settings you configure settings that are used across other
workspaces, such as number series, ID segments, and attributes.
You also
can set input masks or regular expressions to validate input in certain elements in
windows.

Visma.net ERP provides a centralised point for managing activation of the system components.
You can activate specific modules, workspaces, or functionalities of Visma.net ERP in accordance with the purchased license.
If required, you can also cancel the
activation of specific components. For more information, see the following topics:

In Visma.net ERP, different types of accounts and other system entities have IDs, which
you design to meet your organisation's requirements.
These IDs can have any
number of segments. For instance, you can define segments that denote specific
divisions, departments, regions, or cost centres.
By using segments, you make
IDs more meaningful for users and reduce input errors. You define
segmentation by using segmented keys.
Visma.net ERP provides a predefined configuration for each segmented key, which can be used in
most cases.
For more information about using segmented keys to configure IDs for various entities, see the following topics:

You use a number series to have the system automatically generate a number for a
new object when the object is being created manually or automatically.
For example: Numbering sequences are used for numbering batches, allocations, schedules, suppliers,
and payments.
Visma.net ERP provides a number of predefined number series, and your organisation can
create and use any number of user-defined number series.

To validate user input in data entry fields, you can define input masks and regular
expressions.
For instance: You can use input masks and regular expressions to
validate the text fields with phone numbers, post codes, and tax registration
numbers.
For more information, see: About input validation options and About input masks.

The business process and implementation scenarios give you the ability to simplify and facilitate the execution of the complex and multi-stage processes that you perform in Visma.net ERP once or on a recurring basis, such as implementing and configuring the Visma.net ERP workspaces (one-time processes) and closing the financial periods (recurrent process).

In addition to the functionalities described above, there are the following functionalities and options:
- Generous lengths (up to 30 characters) for account and subaccount IDs
- Account segment maintenance that gives you the ability to add new values and assign the inactive status to values that are no longer used
