Switch from another accounting software to Visma eAccounting

The first time you create a new financial year in Visma eAccounting Smart, you can enter opening balances for your company.

1. Select Settings to open the menu.
2. Select Financial years and OB and click on Edit.
3. Enter the opening balances.
   

The general rule for all accounts is that the outgoing balance from the preceding year must be entered as the opening balance of the same account for the new financial year.

The exception to this is the balance of account 1500 Kundefordringer, which must be entered at account 1509 Ikke reskontroførte kundefordringer, and the balance of 2400 Leverandørgjeld, which must be entered at account 2409 Ikke reskontroført leverandørgjeld in Visma eAccounting Smart. This is used to distinguish the invoices created in another accounting program.

The balance on 1500 will consist of sales invoices that are created and monitored in Visma eAccounting Smart. The balance of 1509 on the other hand consists of sales invoices created in another accounting program. These must be reconciled manually and compared with the other system until they have been fully paid.

The balance of 2400 will consist of purchase invoices registered and followed up in Visma eAccounting Smart. The balance of account 2409 on the other hand consists of purchase invoices registered in another accounting program. These must be reconciled manually and compared with the other system until they have been fully paid.

1. Read of the balance for accounts payable. This is usually found at account 2400 Leverandørgjeld.
2. Register the balance of account 2409 Ikke reskontroført leverandørgjeld in Visma eAccounting Smart.

1. Read of the balance for your old accounts receivable. This is usually found at account 1500 Kundefordringer.
2. Register the balance of account 1509 Ikke reskontroførte kundefordringer in Visma eAccounting Smart.

1. Read off and total the balance for your cash accounts 1900 Kontanter to 1910 Kasse.
2. Register the balance on account 1900. You can add additional accounts under Settings - Cash and bank accounts.
