Visma eAccounting Smart
Import bank statements
Please note that the file must be saved as a comma-separated CSV file for you to be able to import it to Visma eAccounting Smart. You can read more about how to save a file as a CSV file below.
- Go to Cash and bank.
- Click the arrow next to New bank transaction and select Import bank statement.
- In the window that opens, choose Select file to upload or drop the file in the designated area.
- Select Add.
In certain cases when you upload a CSV file you will be asked to specify which columns in your bank statement that Visma eAccounting Smart should retrieve information from.
When the import is finished, the program automatically searches for accounting transactions which match the bank transactions and suggests matches for you to post to the ledger. The bank transactions are shown under All unreconciled bank transactions.
For imports to work problem-free, all data must be saved in the correct way in a comma-separated CSV file, where each row corresponds to one bank transaction. In Microsoft, the file is called CSV comma separated or CSV comma delimited, depending on which Office package you have installed. In Mac, the same format is called Windows comma delimited (.CSV).
The format in which your exported information is created can vary slightly depending on the program, but you can format it so the information can be imported into Visma eAccounting Smart. The separator which goes between each element can be either one of the characters ; , . :. A negative value is always preceded by a minus sign.
To import a bank statement in the CSV format, the file must at the very least include a column with dates in one of the standard date formats, for example
04.06.2019;Invoice123;123,25
