Define a box

To send shipments via different delivery services and carriers, you need to define the types of boxes used by each of the carriers.

1. Go to the Packaging types (CS207600) window.
2. Click on the table toolbar to add a new line to the table.
3. Type a unique ID for the box.
4. In the Weight UoM box, select the UoM to be used to measure the weight.
5. Specify the weight of the box in the selected UoM.
6. Specify the maximum weight the box can hold.
7. In the Volume UoM box, select the UoM to be used to measure the volume of the box.
8. Specify the capacity of the box in volume UoMs.
9. Specify the maximum volume that the box can hold.
10. Optional: specify the linear dimensions (such as width, height, or length) for information purposes only; the values are not used in any calculation.
11. Specify a description for this box.
12. Make sure the Active by default check box is selected for the box, if boxes of this type are used for shipping by most of the carriers and should appear by default on the list of boxes used for any ship via code in the Ship via codes (CS207500) window.
