What does ID, GLN, service supplier/VAN operator, format and Peppol mean?

If anyone asks for your ID in e-invoice related circumstances, this is the same as your corporate identity number.

The Global Location Number (GLN) is a string of digits which identifies a business related activity. The GLN can identify a company, an organisation, a billing address or a delivery location.

To send or receive e-invoices in Visma eEkonomi Smart, you generally do not need a GLN. Most often, it suffices to inform of the fact that you can receive e-invoices, state your corporate identity number (ID) and let them know that InExchange is your VAN operator. The service supplier /  VAN operator Visma Spcs uses to send and receive e-invoices is InExchange.

The format used to send and receive e-invoices in Visma eEkonomi Smart is called S-EDI. This is then converted to the Svefaktura format by InExchange, which fits the recipient's accounting software.

The Peppol ID is a type of identifier which is connected to Peppol, and each user has a unique ID. A Peppol ID consists of a prefix (e.g. 0007) which determines what data the second part of the identifier contains.

0007:XXXXXXXXXX (Swedish corporate identity number)

0088: YYYYYYYYYYYYY (GLN)

If you send e-invoices you don not have to consider your recipient's Peppol ID as the program takes care of that automatically.
