Process a customer refund
Create the document(s) to be refunded, see Create a credit note and/or Enter a payment document. Release the document(s) to be refunded, see Release a payment document.
The document(s) to be refunded can also come in from AutoPay. Process these documents in the Process incoming payments (AR305000) window and make sure they have the Open status so that they appear in the Process customer refunds (AR50300S) window.
The Process customer refunds (AR50300S) window can only be used to create customer refunds to be paid via AutoPay.
- Go to the Process customer refunds (AR50300S) window.
- In the Payment method field, select the preferred payment method.
- If necessary, in the Cash account field, change the cash account. Choose a cash account that has a valid bank agreement for AutoPay.
The table displays all available refund documents. - Select the documents you wish to refund.
- In the Payment date column, select the date you want the refund to take place.
- In the Amount paid field, verify that the amount you want to refund is correct.
- Click Create customer refunds.
The system will now redirect you to the Batch payments (AP305000) window, where you can view the refunds you have just processed and send them to AutoPay, see also Send outgoing refunds to AutoPay.
