Register an invoice for ROT and RUT work

You can either register ROT and RUT work items by using pre-configured non-stock items, or register them manually, as in this procedure.

  1. Go to the Sales invoices (AR301000) window.
  2. Select the check box ROT or RUT deductible document. The ROT and RUT details (Sweden) tab is displayed in the tab area.
  3. Select the customer.
  4. Click the ROT and RUT details (Sweden) tab.
  5. Add the following information:
    • Distribute automatically - select this if you want the amount to be distributed equally among the specified persons.
    • Select RUT (cleaning, maintenance, laundry) -- or -- ROT (repairs, conversion, extension).
    • If you selected ROT, fill in the Apartment or Property field. If you fill in the apartment number, add the Corporate ID (Housing cooperative's ID).
  6. In the ROT and RUT distribution area, click to add the personal ID of the person that will receive the tax deduction.
You can add more than one ID.
  7. If you have not selected Distribute automatically in Step 5, you can manually distribute the amount among the specified persons.
  8. Click the Document details tab, and click to add the invoice lines.
  9. For each line that is a deductible item (when Type is Service), select the check box in the ROT or RUT deductible column.
  10. In the Item type column select Service.
  11. In the Type of work column, select the type of work that has been performed.

You may have to use the scroll bar at the bottom of the table and scroll right to see these column headings in the table. You can rearrange the order of columns to your preferred order.
When you add invoice lines for ROT and RUT work and the unit of measure is hour, you will see that the Deductible amount column shows the amount your client can deduct.
  12. Add lines for material costs and other costs that you have incurred in connection with the reported service work.

These are not deductible items, but you have to report them. Do not select ROT or RUT deductible for these.
If you include material costs for a type of work, the tax authority expects that you also report service hours for the same type of work.

  13. Click .

If you go to the ROT and RUT details (Sweden) tab, you can now see a summary of the total deductible amount, as well as the amounts that you have stated for material cost and other cost.

If you have added several persons to receive tax deduction, the ROT and RUT distribution area will show the correct deductible amount for each person.
