Reverse an invoice with ROT or RUT

You reverse an invoice with ROT or RUT differently depending on whether or not the balancing credit note and debit note have been created. In this topic, you will read about how to reverse a ROT or RUT invoice when the balancing closed credit note and open debit note were created when the invoice was released, that is, when Release customer ledger documents is selected in the Balance invoices on field on the ROT and RUT settings (Sweden) tab in the Organisations (CS101500) or Branches (CS102000) window.

  1. In the Sales invoices (AR301000) window, find the open balancing debit note to Skatteverket.
  2. Click the Actions button and click Reverse and apply to note.
  3. Click Release. The debit note is now closed (and a new closed credit note to Skatteverket is created).
  4. In the Customer payments (AR302000) window, find the closed balancing credit note to the customer.
  5. In the Application history tab, click the Reverse application button.
  6. Click Release. The balancing credit note is now open.
  7. In the Sales invoices (AR301000) window, find the original invoice.
  8. Click the Actions button and click Reverse and apply to note.
  9. Click Release. The invoice is now closed (and a new closed credit note to the customer is created).
  10. For the balancing credit note to the customer that is still open (and is without VAT), create and release a debit note to the customer with the same amount and without VAT.
  11. Go to the Customer payments (AR302000) window, click and select the customer. In the Document to apply tab, add the open balancing credit note and the open debit note created in Step 10.
  12. Click Release in the window toolbar. Now, all the documents are closed.
