Deactivate cost centres and cost units
If a cost unit or cost centre no longer should be used, you can deactivate the cost units you have added under each cost centre.
Please note that if you have worked with cost centres for a period of time and then deactivated them, they will continue to be shown on journal entries that were created during this period.
Deactivate cost centres
- Select Accounting - Cost centres.
- Select the cost centre you want to deactivate and click on the gear icon.
- Uncheck the Active box.
- Select Save.
The cost centre has now been deactivated.
Deactivate cost units
- Select Accounting - Cost centres.
- Select the cost unit you want to deactivate.
- Choose Edit.
- Uncheck the Active box.
- Select Save.
Hide the Cost centres menu option
- Select Settings - Payroll settings, and the Accounting tab.
- Uncheck the Use cost centres box.
The cost centres are now deactivated and hidden, which means that the Cost centres menu option no longer is shown under Accounting. All information you entered under cost centres and cost units is saved in case you want to reactivate the cost centres feature.
