Tax deduction request

All employers are obligated to request information about the employees' preliminary tax information. The preliminary tax form is not automatically sent to everyone. By sending a tax deduction request to Skatteverket, you will get information about tax tables and any tax adjustment decisions related to the employees.

In Visma Lön Smart, you can request a tax deduction and get an immediate reply from Skatteverket inside the program. You can then choose whether you want to apply the changes to the employee list. It is the information in the fields Calculation method, Tax Table and Tax will be deducted by on the Taxes tab that is retrieved from Skatteverket.

It is not possible to send a Tax deduction request for all employees at the same time. The request has to be sent one employee at a time.

When an employee is added to the employee list, you do not need to do a Tax deduction request. The employee's information on tax reductions is automatically retrieved from Skatteverket when you enter the employee's personal identity number under Lön Smart - Employees on the Basic information tab. Information about calculation method, tax table/tax deduction are automatically filled out on the Taxes tab.

This is how you request a tax deduction:

  1. Select Lön Smart - Employees.
  2. Select the employee you want to make the tax deduction request for.
  3. Select the Taxes tab.
  4. Click the Tax deduction request link.

In the reply from Skatteverket, you will see what information that differs from the values that are already in the employee list. You will also get information if it is not possible to get a reply regarding a tax deduction request for an employee.

  1. Click Save to update the employee list with the latest information from Skatteverket.
