Add cost centres
If you want to work with cost centres you need to make some settings.
- Select Settings - Company settings and the Accounting settings tab.
- Check the Use cost centres box if it is not already checked.
- Select Save.
You will receive a message indicating that the company settings have been changed.
Under Accounting, the heading Cost centres has now been added.
- Select Cost centres. Three groups are now shown, of which two are inactive.
- Click on the cogwheel of the relevant group to give it a name.
- Select New cost unit to add a cost unit.
- Select which cost centre the new cost unit belongs to. This if you work with more than one cost centre.
- Fill in the Short name and Name fields.
- Select Save.
The item is saved under the selected cost centre.
To be able to use cost centres
The accounts for
- Select Accounting - Chart of accounts.
- Select the account you want to be able to enter cost centres on from the chart of accounts.
- Select Edit.
- Check the Allow cost centres box.
- Select Save.
