In certain cases it may be difficult to assign work schedules with regular working hours to employees. It is then better to use a work schedule with irregular working hours. You enable this setting under Scheduling - Work schedules and by selecting the work schedule and choosing Irregular working hours next to Type of work schedule.
Work schedules with irregular working hours can be used by employees who do not have fixed working hours, for example temporary workers. You then enter 0 in the fields under Time summary or leave the fields empty. The employee then simply clocks in and out and gets paid for their actual working hours. The employee can also register deviations, such as leave. Read more in the topic Register time.
This type of work schedule can also be used when the working hours are difficult to schedule in advance, or when the working hours are scheduled for shorter periods at a time. In such cases, you can add different work schedules for different periods, but the downside is that there will be many work schedules and changes. It is therefore easier to use the Schedule irregular working hours feature, where the hours worked can be added retrospectively as the working hours are determined.
